Midwest Ministry Training is a church-based ministry training program that exists to train preaching ministers and associate ministers for the local church. Midwest involves churches working together to train ministers. We take a trade school/apprenticeship approach to ministry training. This is a different approach than a traditional four-year college degree, but is not inferior. To the contrary, a trade school/apprenticeship approach is highly effective.
CHURCHES WORKING TOGETHER TO TRAIN MINISTERS
Midwest brings together many churches to work together to train ministers. Some churches, called training churches, allow one or more students to complete part or all of their apprenticeship in the context of their respective churches. Other churches, called supporting churches, help support Midwest financially in order to help cover costs relating to training students. Still other churches support Midwest by allowing their minister to teach classes or to help administrate Midwest’s training program. Most churches do not have all of the resources needed to provide a robust minister training program. However, many churches can work together to provide a top notch minister training program for our brotherhood.
