HOW DOES IT WORK?
Courses will generally be offered online. Students will generally meet in real time with the teacher once a week.
- This allows students to participate in courses from a wide range of locations.
- Courses will be rigorous in nature and cover material best covered in a classroom setting.
- Top notch teachers from around the country will teach classes.
- With few exceptions, teachers will be those who are currently serving as ministers in local churches (or those who have retired).
While completing their academic training, students engage in a 1500 hour apprenticeship working under one or ministers in one or more local churches.
- The apprenticeship experience is completed at the same time as the academic training and requires a minimum of 1500 hours.
- Students complete the apprenticeship experience under one or more seasoned ministers in one or more local churches.
- The apprenticeship experience will teach all of the practical skills needed in ministry which are best learned by following another minister and working under his supervision.
Students pass a formal examination to receive a certificate of endorsment.
- Completion of academic training and the apprenticeship experience allows the student to be a candidate to receive the certificate of endorsement.
- The student must also have demonstrated development of ministry skills needed to be endorsed.
- The student must also have demonstrated appropriate Christian character during the apprenticeship experience to be endorsed.
Students receive a Certificate of Endorsement
- Upon passing the formal examination, students will receive a Certificate of Endorsment of Preaching Ministry or Associate Ministry.
- It will take a minimum of two years to earn a Certificate of Endorsment. Many students may take three years or even more. The overall time frame that any individual completes the whole program is secondary to whether they master the classes, learn to serve the local church compentently in a leadership position, develop and maintain Christian integrity, and can be confidently endorsed by Midwest Ministry Training.
